Los Lama Palace House

We present this jewel, a palatial residence in the heart of the historic center of Segovia, in the Barrio de los Caballeros, unique for having an arch of the Roman aqueduct in its garden. It is a house with comprehensive protection featuring an imposing Romanesque arch at the entrance of its main facade, and its hallway on the courtyard floor dates back to the 13th century. It also boasts a fascinating 16th-century Renaissance central courtyard with 12 columns and 4 coats of arms in the corners, heraldry of the noble Lama family to which it belonged. The residence is distributed over 2 floors, a basement, and an attic that revolve around this courtyard with a total built area of 1,786m², with 1,415m² of land, a wonderful garden of 390m², and a rear courtyard of 250m². The ground floor features structures from the 13th and 20th centuries. It houses spacious and open rooms, such as its magnificent hallway and the 2 rooms whose chiseled wrought-iron floors and balconies date from the 16th century while their ceilings and walls date from the 19th century. The noble floor is accessed from the courtyard by an imposing staircase whose enormous shaft and its impressive coffered ceiling are Renaissance, while the wooden stairs, railing, and trompe l'oeil date from the 19th century. Here we find the bedrooms with high ceilings with stuccoed walls, others adorned with 19th-century wallpapers. It has spacious living rooms, fireplaces, and service areas. The oratory occupies part of the interior gallery. On the top floor is the attic. The house is located in a quiet and little-trafficked area of the city center. Among its spectacular views are the upper part of the city wall, the 2 faces of the aqueduct, and the mountains of the central massif.
