The Art City is a residential area of the municipality of Rafina. It has a population of 900 residents and beautiful, spacious single-family homes, which are built on the hillside so that most of them have views of the open horizon and some have sea views. Rafina is located on the coast of Eastern Attica and is the second largest port of the region, after Piraeus, with significant traffic to the Cyclades. In recent years, Rafina, as well as the surrounding areas like the Art City, has experienced significant development and essentially serves as a suburb of Athens thanks to the Attiki Odos, which improved access from the city center. It is approximately 25 kilometers from the center of Athens. The main road of Eastern Attica, Marathon Avenue, crosses it to the west, while Am. Fleming Avenue starts from Marathon Avenue and ends a short distance from the city center and the port. On the other side of Marathon Avenue, on the hillside, lies the Art City. Rafina covers an area of 19,000 acres and has a population of 12,168 residents according to the 2011 census, while in the summer months it reaches 30,000 - 50,000. It is densely populated in the center near the port but has large areas with parks and green spaces, as well as two large beaches, the first next to the port and the second the popular Marikes beach. The Art City is a peripheral district of Rafina west of Marathon Avenue at the foothills of Penteli. The international airport Eleftherios Venizelos is about 20 minutes away, while the Pallini Suburban Railway station is closer.
