Location: Kypseli is one of the city’s most interesting neighborhoods. It borders Patission Street to the west, Pedion tou Areos to the south, Attiko Alsos (Tourkovounia) to the east, and the Municipality of Galatsi to the north. Key features: Kypseli’s main landmark is the Fokionos Negri pedestrian street. It consists of a wide green strip in the center with trees, benches, fountains, and statues, surrounded on both sides by cafés, as well as restaurants and shops. A characteristic example of Athenian modernism on Fokionos Negri is the Municipal Market, which was renovated by the Municipality of Athens in 2016. Agios Georgios Square is only a few minutes from Fokionos Negri and is the city’s new popular meeting point—an area that is, in itself, a small neighborhood. Prominent in residents’ daily life are Pedion tou Areos, one of Athens’ largest public parks, Mount Helikon Hill, and Attiko Alsos in Upper Kypseli, a green and recreation area of high ecological value for the Athens basin. It covers 550 stremmas on Mount Tourkovounia and includes playgrounds and tennis, volleyball, and basketball courts. Accessibility: Victoria Station is nearby, while four new metro-line stations currently under construction will upgrade the area’s public transport. Investment potential: This area is in central Athens and is in high demand from buyers.
