This village is set in the centre of the island near Binissalem, Alaró, Santa Eugenia and Santa María. Consell has a population of approx. 4,000 inhabitants. It stands as one of the wealthiest communities for its agricultural production, forming part of the denomination of origin of Binissalem. La Viña is the most important feature of the municipality - it has an old winery called "Can Ribas" which is located within the village and which is open to visitors. There are several important country estates in this municipality such as Es Rafal, Can Ribas, Son Coco, Son Puntiró and Sa Cabana, now converted into magnificent rural hotels.
