Description

We are standing in front of Villa Gera, an imposing presence resting on the Hill of Giano. From afar, its majestic profile welcomes us, drawing, along with the Castle, the skyline of Conegliano. As we ascend, we notice the feature that most captures the eye: the pronaos, adorned with eight slender columns, standing out against the sky. There is a bas-relief by Marco Casagrande, a student of Canova, depicting Architecture as it welcomes the sister Arts. As we approach, it's as if we can sense the echo of stories and encounters these walls have hosted. We enter at the garden level, through one of the two entrances. We find ourselves in a passing hall, once a transit area for carriages, which opens onto side rooms. From here, a red stone bifurcated staircase invites us to ascend. Each step we take brings us closer to the pulsating heart of the villa. On the noble floor, a large vaulted hall unfolds before us, a true triumph of frescoes. Scenes from the life of Julius Caesar, painted by Giovanni Antonio De Min, surround us: the victory over the Helvetii, the crossing of the Alps, the triumph in Rome, and the Ides of March. The breath of time seems almost tangible in this environment. Around the hall, in a perfect symmetrical scheme, are four lounges, each with its own atmosphere. From here, or directly from the hall, one can access the imposing pronaos, which faces south, offering a suggestive view of the city center. Ascending further, we reach the second floor, where spaces once intended for the private apartment are located. Higher up, the loggia offers a breathtaking view. The gaze is free to wander, from the city rooftops to the gentle profile of the UNESCO hills and the Castle. As we exit, we notice the significant agricultural building adjacent to the villa and the remains of the ancient burnt wing, of which only the outer walls remain, a silent testament to a past that has transformed. The park, about 2 hectares, envelops us with its greenery. The Prosecco Docg vineyard, the orchard, and the garden create a harmonious landscape bordering the ancient Carraresi walls of the castle. Here, a reserved access to the above walkway testifies to the deep connection between the villa and the city's history. Villa Gera has profoundly impressed us. Its neoclassical elegance and the richness of its interiors make it a property of great historical and artistic value. We believe it is the ideal solution for those seeking a representative residence or a venue for prestigious events. Its panoramic position, proximity to the Castle, and the beauty of the park with the vineyard also make it perfect for a high-level hospitality business or a combination of private residence and hospitality spaces.

Location: Conegliano, Veneto

The Colle di Giano, which hosts the villa with the complex of the Castle of Conegliano, is a hill characterized to the south by elegant buildings that testify to the historical and cultural wealth of the city, with magnificent ancient and modern villas, gardens, and parks, and to the north by the typical landscape of the UNESCO Hills, among vineyards, groves, and vistas of great charm. Villa Gera, built within the Carraresi walls of the Castle, is at the center of this beauty, standing out above the historic part of the city. Easily accessible from the center and the main communication routes, the residence is located in a fortunate position, in the heart of the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene Prosecco Hills, one hour from Venice and two hours from Cortina D'ampezzo. The territory, besides being known for the famous Prosecco wine and culinary delights, is also a dynamic economic center characterized by a vast number of enterprises with some internationally renowned names. Main railway station of the UNESCO Hills, close to two international airports, Conegliano is ready to embrace the future by attracting significant national and international investments.
