Description

The Main Level True to classic colonial design, the main floor wraps around a lush central garden anchored by a dramatic fountain the architectural heart of the home. Surrounding it, you’ll find a dramatic living room, an informal den, a formal dining room, and a fully equipped gourmet kitchen with a generous breakfast nook. The outdoor sala is a covered living area with a fireplace, comfortable lounge seating, a wet bar, and a flat-screen TV perfect for evening gatherings under the San Miguel sky. Upstairs in the Main House The second floor holds the master suite along with two additional en-suite bedrooms, both with direct access to the rooftop terrace. The Pool Level Below the main house, a garden-style swimming pool with jacuzzi jets creates a private resort-like retreat. Two casita-style bedroom suites sit directly alongside the pool, offering guests their own secluded garden setting. The Rooftop Above it all, a rooftop terrace with its own bar delivers sweeping views of San Miguel’s legendary sunsets one of the home’s most magical spaces. The Bedrooms Five bedrooms in total: four with king beds (one convertible to two twins), and a fifth with a queen bed that can be set up as a fully functional home office on request. Modern Comforts 5 smart TVs with streaming access 4-zone Sonos sound system throughout 2GB fiber-optic internet Whole-home water purification system Full home security system Service & Staff The home comes with a dedicated gardener/maintenance person for any household needs. An excellent house maid is available, with personal laundry service offered for an additional fee. House staff do not work Sundays or national holidays, though they are often available at overtime rates — please inquire in advance if you anticipate needing assistance during these times. Casa Luz is yours exclusively for the length of your stay no shared spaces, no other guests, just you and the people you bring with you. Beyond the property itself, our on-the-ground team is part of what you’re booking. Need a ride from the airport, a stocked fridge before you arrive, daily housekeeping, or a private chef for one night? We arrange it. Curious about a wine tasting in the valley, a morning on horseback, a sunrise hot air balloon flight, or a guided walk through Centro’s history? We set that up too. And if a lightbulb dies or the AC acts up, our maintenance team responds in real time, not next week. Reach out any time we’re here for the small requests and the big ones. San Miguel de Allende is a working colonial town first, a postcard second and that’s exactly its charm. Founded over four centuries ago and protected as a national historic site, the city wasn’t built for convenience; it was built to last, and it shows. During your stay, don’t be surprised by church bells marking the hours, fireworks celebrating something (anything, any time of day), a parade rerouting traffic for an afternoon, or the particular music of the trash collector’s bell and the knife sharpener’s whistle making their rounds. Roosters crow. Dogs bark. The cobblestones that make San Miguel so photogenic also make for an uneven walk comfortable shoes are non-negotiable. Older infrastructure means water pressure, hot water, internet, or power can occasionally take an unannounced break, usually a short one. None of this is a flaw in your particular home; it’s simply how a centuries-old town breathes. If your idea of a perfect stay requires total predictability and silence, a smaller town outside the historic center might suit you better. But if you can take the unpredictable in stride, you’ll find it’s part of what makes this place unlike anywhere else. You won’t need a car here. Taxis are everywhere and inexpensive flag down a green cab and expect to pay around $80 MXN ($90-100 to most areas) for a ride anywhere in town. Uber works in San Miguel too, though cars can take a little longer to arrive than you’re used to elsewhere, so build in a few extra minutes.
