Oggebbio is a Lake town of the Upper Verbano made up of small villages on the shores of the Lake and on the hills behind. The particular microclimate of the area facilitates the natural growth of Camellias flowers, a magnificent example can be seen in the gardens of Villa Anelli, that boasts a gorgeous park with more than two hundred flowers. In this stunning setting the annual Camellias exhibition takes place every March. For those who love walking in nature, Oggebbio is on “Via delle Genti”: an easy itinerary with an amazing view over Lago Maggiore. This trekking path allows you to cross small villages and the Sacro Monte di Ghiffa Reserve (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and to reach at the end the marvellous lakeside villages of Cannero and Cannobio. Here, you can find the beautiful ancient Church of San Gottardo, in Carmine Superiore hamlet, rich in many artistic treasures and built in a panoramic position, whose view repays the efforts of the walk.
