About Salema, Vila do Bispo Salema is one of the most iconic fishing villages in the Algarve where you can still watch the fishing boats coming in to land with their catch. It is halfway between Cape St.Vincent, the most south-westerly point of mainland Europe, and 20 Km from Lagos, the biggest city in the western Algarve. The delightful Salema beach is a large sheltered bay. There is a pleasant beachside promenade with some open-air cofés and restaurants overlooking the sea.
