The parish of Olivais, in terms of access, has as its greatest advantage the proximity to the Encarnação Metro station. In this quiet, serene, and tranquil neighborhood, it is very common to see children playing in Vale do Silêncio Park or elderly people chatting near the market. A typically residential neighborhood, with a strong component of public services and utilities and endowed with many green areas. Once a destination for the bourgeoisie and industry, which occupied the land with their estates and factories, today the neighborhood of Olivais is characterized by vast residential areas mixed with large green spaces, and the central service hub Spacio Shopping. In the 1960s, this area was part of a large-scale urban operation, integrated into the expansion strategies of the city of Lisbon, following the success of the Alvalade neighborhood. Here, the aim was to design a neighborhood where the built sets were connected by the green structure, with narrow streets, wide sidewalks, pedestrian connections, and facades spaced apart from each other. Harmony exists, the population takes pride in the rustle of their trees and cherishes their green spaces.
