Location: Kypseli is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city and one of the most interesting places to live in Athens. It is bordered west by Patision Street, south by Pedion tou Areos, east by Tourkovounia and north by the municipality of Galatsi. Unique features: The main attraction in Kypseli is the pedestrian street in Fokionos Negri. It consists of a large strip of green in the center, with trees, benches, fountains and statues, surrounded by cafes on both sides, restaurants and shops. A typical example of Athenian modernism in Fokionos Negri is the Municipal Market, which was renovated by the Municipality of Athens in 2016. Agios Georgios Square is just a few minutes away from Fokionos Negri and is the new popular spot of the city. An area that is in itself a small neighborhood. An architectural remark of the square is the buildings that surround it, thanks to their curvature look. A prominent place in the life of the inhabitants are Pedion tou Areos, one of the largest public parks in Athens, the Elikonas hill which includes sports facilities and the Attiko Park in Ano Kypseli. Furthermore, there are many small theaters and some artist studios in the area, giving a bohemian feel to the area.
