The municipal term of Boadilla del Monte is a district within the Metropolitan Area of Madrid, located to the west of the capital, which is 15 km away. It has a population of 18,450 inhabitants and covers 47.2 km², bordering the municipalities of Majadahonda, Pozuelo de Alarcón, Alcorcón, Villaviciosa de Odón, and Villanueva de la Cañada. The entire area belongs to the Guadarrama river basin. This municipality experienced a significant population increase in the mid-seventies with the establishment of a large number of single-family residences in housing estates. In the coming years, it will experience another major population increase due to the release of large areas of land that are currently being developed. The main population centers in Boadilla, in addition to the old town, are the luxury housing estates known as Montepríncipe, Olivar de Mirabal, Parque Boadilla, Bonanza, and Las Lomas, referred to as historical housing estates.
