The Mieming Plateau is a real stroke of luck for connoisseurs: at an altitude from 800 to 1,000 meters above sea level and with more than 2,000 hours of sunshine annually, it is only 35 minutes by car from the state capital Innsbruck, embedded in an extraordinary natural landscape.
Already 950 years ago, in a period of poor writing in the transition from the Early Middle Ages to the High Middle Ages, the place was first mentioned in the foundation deed of the St. Gertrud Monastery in Augsburg dated 1071 as “Meiminga superior et inferior”.
