Next Tuesday, the 16th beach volleyball tournament starts - under the new name Major Gstaad. If the weather participates, the tournament commettee expect around 40 000 spectators in the mountain village. From 7 to 12 July the best beach volleyball team in the world will compete in Gstaad. Not only the players among the world leaders, also the tournament and the organization will try to keep up with the best. For this reason, Gstaad was one of four venues of the neuron top series, which the Swatch Beach Volleyball Major Series has selected. For the audience, there are prepared numerous innovations as for example LED screen around the center court and an upgraded Village. For the players the tournament does not change much, the prize and the points are similar to the previous years. This year, all the top teams in the Bernese Oberland are expected, the 32 women's and men's teams playing for 400 000 USD prize each. The breaking news is that Phil Dalhausser because of his injury will not present at the start. From Tuesday until Thursday until 1am and on Friday and on Saturday until 3am you can hit the dance floor! The after–party until the sun rise guarantees the local night club t-Bar at Gstaad’s Promenade. On Sunday, the 12th of July around midday, Stefanie Heizmann – pop and soul singer, will give a life concert in BKW-Lounge in the “village”.She is also known as a coach of "The Voice of Switzerland" and one of the most extraordinary European pop singers.
Last year the tournament was not the luckiest with the weather, so we hope that this year the sun will be au rendez-vous.
