Zermatt: Location and surroundings of this property

Visp has an infrastructure that is unparalleled throughout the canton. Lonza, the largest employer in the region, the hospital and other large companies attract workers from near and far to the up-and-coming city on the banks of the Rhone.

Its new function as an international railway junction for almost the whole of Valais has created a spirit of optimism, one of the consequences of which is that never before have so many major construction projects been pending as at present. The increased influx of companies and institutions that were previously centralised elsewhere is also obvious.

Visp is a steadily growing regional centre with a wide range of shopping facilities, schools, hospital and doctors, restaurants, cultural and sports facilities. At the same time, it is less than an hour away from Thun, Bern, Sion, Italy and the canton's major tourist destinations, making it an ideal starting point for sports and leisure activities. Thanks to the NEAT tunnel, the journey time between Visp and Berne is now only 54 minutes. This puts commuting for work or study within reasonable limits, a new trump card for the quality of life in Visp.
