Gerra is 216m above sea level and has about 300 inhabitants. From here you have a beautiful view of the Maggia delta, the Valle Verzasca, Ascona, Locarno and the surrounding mountains. It has its own lido with bar and beautiful sunbathing lawn and a boat landing stage. Gerra also has its own railway station and a small supermarket. Among the many sights in this region are the Botanical Garden Eisenhut in Vairano and the mountain village Indemini.
