Congratulations, Anja! Your shop was crowned Engel & Völkers Top Shop for 2017/2018. This means you achieved the highest year-on-year revenue growth. What’s the secret of your team’s success?

Anja Beck:
We definitely benefit from the fact that we’ve been active in the market in Zug for 15 years. During this time, we’ve built an excellent reputation with a consistent and multi-lingual team.
We also see a lot of properties twice, such as when satisfied customers resell or let a property or purchase additional properties. We also enjoy success with letting high-value properties. If these can’t be sold, it makes sense to let the properties, which then often leads to a sale.

What sets your team of real estate consultants apart?

Anja Beck:
We go the extra mile. We also don’t think we’re above doing some occasional cleaning, coordinating tradespeople or clearing things away.
The property market in Zug is international and complex. Over the years and with experience, we’ve become experts when it comes to sale contracts and rights of settlement. This means we can also advise our customers on such legal issues.
Our real estate agents know the market and have a passion to keep learning. We’re also all well-connected in business circles, the political scene and the community. That’s certainly a big advantage as a real estate consultant.

Sector experience as a real estate agent is obviously advantageous but not absolutely necessary. There are numerous examples at Engel & Völkers to prove that people can also succeed despite or even due to the fact that they come from a different professional background.
