Lausanne - young and lively cantonal capital with a fantastic view of Lake Geneva and the French Alps

Lausanne, the capital of the canton of Vaud, is young and lively. As the cultural and economic centre of the region, the city attracts visitors with its fantastic location on the shores of Lake Geneva, excellent infrastructure and internationally renowned educational institutions. For young and old alike, Lausanne offers multicultural diversity, a marvellous landscape and a multitude of opportunities. This offer is very popular, which is also reflected in the property market.

Property market- Sustainable living and unbroken demand up to CHF 2.5 million near the city centre

Lausanne is changing. Various new residential neighbourhoods will be realised in Lausanne in the coming years as part of the major Métamorphose project. All of them will be geared towards sustainable living and create living space for several thousand residents. This means that buying a house or flat in Lausanne and the surrounding area remains attractive. Demand for properties up to CHF 1 million and modern properties up to CHF 2.5 million in good, central locations continues unabated.

Properties in rural areas or older existing properties are also finding buyers if they offer good value for money. Interest is only lower than in the boom years for properties worth CHF 2.5 million or more - a trend that may be reversed if interest rates fall again.

Most sought-after locations - Lausanne, Morges and Pully

In addition to Lausanne, the municipalities of Morges and Pully are particularly popular. Opposite Mont Blanc lies the small flower-filled town of Morges, which enchants not only residents with its castle built in 1286, numerous museums and the famous annual tulip festival. The municipality of Pully borders Lausanne to the east. Due to its proximity to Lausanne, the former winegrowing village has developed into a sought-after residential area on the outskirts of Lausanne.
