Blanes is a tourist city that belongs to La Selva region in Girona, Catalonia, Spain. Well known as the "Gateway to the Costa Brava" and the amazing fireworks contest during the summer.
Its coast is part of the Costa Brava, which extends from Blanes to the French border.
The beautiful coves like Cala Sant Francesc and Cala Treumal and also the other beaches are one of the best things of this city.
Other places of interest include the Marimurtra Botanical Garden, which cover almost 15 hectares with more than 4,000 different plant species and is visited by 300,000 people each year. Another beautiful garden is the Pinya de Rosa, which consists of more than 7,000 different plant species.
The city offers a lot of different activities and sports clubs, including the renowned sailing club Club de Vela Blanes, one of the most important sailing clubs in Costa Brava.
It is only 1 hour from Barcelona airport and less than 30 minutes from Girona airport.
