Beaches
Located on the spectacular Southern Costa Blanca coastline, and between two natural saltwater lagoons means that Torrevieja is more than blessed with its share of yellow sandy beaches, secluded coves, and sparkling turquoise waters. The marina area itself is home to some of Torrevieja’s most gorgeous beaches.
Playa del Acequión. Located close to the city’s port area, Playa del Acequión has a huge wharf on one side where many fishing and sailing boats, as well as yachts, are docked. A large expanse of fine sand, coupled with a shoreline that gently slopes into shallow waters, makes it the perfect place for a safe swim in gentle waters.
Playa de Los Náufragos (beach of the shipwrecked). This urban beach, complete with a playground for children, shower stalls, restrooms, lifeguards, and variety of beach bars and restaurants is popular among both the locals and holidaymakers. The golden-shores and the nearby palm trees add to the relaxing feel of Playa de Los Náufragos.
Piscinas Artificiales. As the name suggests, Piscinas Artificiales is a manmade swimming pool in the sea. It was built around a long cemented quay extending into the waters. A stone foundation fortifies the quay on one side and on the other side is an inlet with steps into the sea. When swimming here the beach has the feel of an infinity pool that opens up to the entire Mediterranean Sea. The protected waters also offer an excellent spot for snorkelling and diving.
Piscinas Naturales. This cove-like beach comprises numerous, natural rock pools in the sea that led to its name of Piscinas Naturales, meaning natural swimming pool. A lovely place to take a dip in the Mediterranean.
