Madame Wine, a concept signed by Sophia Zaime

Sophia Zaime is a talented and dedicated 31-year-old woman. Madame Wine’s young CEO is full of strength and determination to achieve her dreams. Comfortably seated in her charming lounge on rue Quentin-Bauchart in Paris’ 8th district, she shares her amazing story and explains why she chose the Golden Triangle in Paris for her activities as a wine merchant.

The origins of Madame Wine

The career of Sophia began in a renowned Parisian Wine House. She started as a trainee in this company and ended up as a Sales Manager five years later. After this successful experience, she spent several months travelling and opening to other cultures.

Back in France, she realized that surprisingly, many French people do not know wine… Wine consumers regularly buy wine, but some of them do not know what to buy, where to buy and on what occasion. And interestingly, many wine lovers do not have the time to handle all these aspects.

At that point, “Madame Wine” was born in Sophia’s mind.

The concept? Reaching out to wine consumers who do not know wine properly, or who do not have enough time to buy wine, and just… helping them out!

As a result of this observation, Madame Wine was founded in 2014. Today it is a successful wine merchant company, which mainly sells wine, champagne, spirits and delivers everywhere in the world. It has soon expanded with other services around wine, gastronomy, “art-de-vivre à la française” (French lifestyle), and closely works with Michelin-starred restaurants, palaces and luxury hotels in France and abroad.

The company also stores wine bottles for customers all around the globe who do not own a wine cellar. Their bottles are kept in the best conservation conditions in Parisian warehouses, ready to be delivered upon request, anytime, anywhere.

Sophia has answered a few questions:

Why did you choose to settle in the heart of the Golden Triangle in Paris, and how does this part of the capital inspire you?

I am a huge lover of the Champs-Élysées Avenue! The history of the most famous avenue in the world really inspires me, so it was obvious for me to settle here. This location is key to so many people and so many companies as well ; what an exciting business district! I know it by heart now… It is a shame, but I rarely leave this part of Paris, because I actually live in this neighborhood.

Madame Wine’s lounge is a very pleasant place. What makes it so special?

So many people feel at home when they enter here. Most of them even think that I live in this place! I do spend a lot of time here, so in that sense, they are almost right.

I hate offices with neon lights and open-spaces… I therefore tried to create a warm workplace, so that people who work with me can almost feel like at home.
