La MORRA: Location and surroundings of this plot

La Morra, situated on a hilltop, is a small jewel set in the heart of the Langhe whose fame has crossed national borders and is now famous worldwide. Since 2014, La Morra has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage list as part of the site The Wine-growing Landscapes of Piedmont: Langhe-Roero and Monferrato. The velvety hills, cobbled streets and irregular roofs, arranged according to the ancient medieval layout, are enough to make La Morra a
picturesque village, guardian of timeless traditions and architectural beauty. But the citadel offers much more: the so-called 'red gold'. All around the hills, in fact, valuable vines are cultivated, among which the most renowned is Nebbiolo, from which Barolo and Nebbiolo d'Alba are produced. Precious black grapes, which, like rubies scratched by the sun, sparkle in the daylight to produce a delicious wine.
Its 1700 bell tower, built from the remains of the castle, demolished in the 16th century, is just over 30 metres high and has a square plan with a sober structure. On reaching the belfry, one can admire the surrounding panorama, 360° of pure beauty. In every street of the village you will find wine cellars and typical inns where you can taste not only the famous wine, but also fine local products. Hiking enthusiasts can try their hand along the network of 7 trails, whose narrow streets not only lead the visitor close to the great vineyards, but also allow them to discover small hamlets of La Morra, votive pillars, woods and panoramic viewpoints. 20 min from Alba, 10 min from Barolo, 2 h from Milan and Genoa, La Morra is the ideal starting point for exploring and immersing oneself in the sensations that this magnificent land knows how to give.
