On the ridge that leads from Castiglion d’Orcia to Monte Amiata there is this lovely property with a wonderful view on both sides of the Val d’Orcia. The house with its original shape and facade was born from the recent renovation of one of the hamlet's annexes, which can be reached from a white road of a few hundred meters long, that runs through the woods. The large, very well-kept courtyard is adorned with roses, lilac, sage and rosemary plants, some tall trees such as maritime pines along the avenue that leads to the house, and a beautiful centuries-old oak under which you can relax while enjoying a breathtaking view on the Val d’Orcia, Montalcino and Castello di Velona. This small hamlet is located few km away from Castiglion d'Orcia, a medieval village on the ridge that rises from Bagno Vignoni towards Monte Amiata, famous for the ancient fortress, a breathtaking view of the Val d'Orcia and a cool weather during the summer. Castiglion d'Orcia is easily reachable by following the Romans road Cassia which goes from Siena towards Rome. A few kilometres away are towns with a rich artistic heritage like San Quirico d'Orcia, Pienza and Montepulciano, and the spa resorts of Bagno Vignoni, Chianciano Terme, Bagni San Filippo. The food and wine panorama is the typical Tuscan one; Montalcino, known for the famous Brunello wine, is located about twenty minutes away by car, on the road that leads to the west Coast. The closest airports are those of Rome and Florence.
