Monforte d’Alba is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and certainly the king of the 11 production municipalities of Barolo wine and is also the fulcrum of the core area of the Unesco heritage of Piedmont. Its name finds its ancient origins dating back to the year 1000 when the castle supported by the fortified walls, called Mons Fortis was built.
