The village of Bazzano was the first settlement of the Piceni in the upper Macerata area
where there are certain historical traces.
The construction of the village can be dated around the end of the 13th century.
The stone used to build the buildings, a wonderful very white limestone,
comes from the same quarry, which no longer exists today, which, a couple of centuries later,
it was used for the construction of the fabulous Sanctuary of Macereto (Visso).
In fact, the two buildings are just over 4km apart as the crow flies.
Another building of great value located a short distance from the village is the Sanctuary of
Santa Maria di Casoriano, the third and last building for which that was used
stone.
The architectural peculiarity of the Borgo is that of presenting, within the
wall boxes that delimit the various buildings, a game of staggered mezzanines that
reaches the number of three per single housing unit.
Furthermore, the real estate portion upstream and downstream of the village are located in
communication from a building body that acts as a bridge. Almost all environments
they are communicating since in the past, and according to the traditions of rural families
who lived in the village, we tried to light a few fireplaces in the various homes
in order to save wood, the fact that many rooms were communicating
made the homogeneous diffusion of heat possible.
A small consecrated church is present inside the village, this is permitted
use, even private, in mutual agreement with the local Curia.
The valley on which the village rests, at about 600 meters above sea level
sea, is rich in the native flora and fauna of the upper Macerata area, the lands
surrounding areas are well worked with rotations of organic crops such as cereals, grasses and
pasture meadows.
One of the most valuable characteristics of the Borgo is that of being in one
sort of space-time suspension: the complete absence of any artefact
modern in the surroundings, the silence accompanied exclusively by the sounds of
nature, make Bazzano an inimitable jewel, one of a kind, where
spirituality, harmony and peace reign supreme.
The village has been the subject of multiple conservative restorations starting from the 70s up to
about a decade ago. These interventions, which allowed the survival of the
Borgo to date, have mostly consisted of the consolidation of boxes
walls, in the restoration of some floors, and in the partial internal and external finishing
of the straightening of the visible face. Without these interventions probably today of

There are underground drinking water and electricity services.
There is also a private water sub-service that allows you to withdraw water
spontaneous or rainwater that accumulates downstream and transport it to the center of the village.
The properties are in their raw state, therefore there are no active services or services
consequently the certificate of habitability for some of the buildings.

Pieve Torina is located in the Macerata hinterland, at 470 m. above sea level in the Sibillini Mountains National Park. Populated by the Umbrians as early as the 7th century BC, the city was colonized in the 3rd century BC by Rome. The village, resurrected in the Middle Ages, was a fiefdom of Camerino until its annexation to the Papal States in the 16th century. It is 120 km from the Rafael Sanzio airport in Falconara Marittima (AN) and is located 50 minutes from the Adriatic coast.
