This palace dating back from the beginning of the year 1300 is in the heart of Asti old town, between the streets Via XX Settembre and Via Bonzanigo. It is a to-be-renovated three-storey building with inner courtyard. Presently it consists -on the ground floor- of a shop and a private roofed courtyard for up to four cars A nice staircase leads to the first and second floor, each of which hosts two apartments. Its decorations date backs to the building time. The nice flooring is waiting to be rediscovered in all their splendour. From each side of the building, you can enjoy a stunning view over the towers of Asti. Finally, there is also a large basement, where it is still possible to admire some foundations of Roman age.
The past of Asti is very significant. The ancient “Hasta Pompeia” was founded by the Romans, whose many vestiges are still partly intact. During the late Middle Age, it was an important centre of the “ Ducato d’ Asti”, on the Via Francigena. It was also very influent under the rule of the Savoia family over the Risorgimento period. Churches, towers, and fortifications tell us a lot about the glorious history of Asti, once called “the town with hundred towers”. Asti is one of the eight Piedmont Provinces capitals, lying among the hills of Langhe and Monferrato and is famous all over the world for its wines. Many tourists visit Asti and the surrounding area precisely for the abundance of the territory, rich in vineyards, woods, medieval villages. For them a bottle of wine Moscato is the best souvenir!
