We are in Via delle Mura Gianicolensi where historically a stretch of defensive walls was erected in 1643 by Pope Urban VIII to integrate the Leonine Walls (to defend the Vatican Hill) and to better protect the portion of Rome that extended on the right side of the Tiber. The initial stretch of the wall is characterized by the low height of the walls, a consequence of the building expansion which caused the elevation of the road level.
