Historical sources reveal that the Villa was already present in the 10th century in the form of a castle with walls and several towers, two of which still exist today and are integral parts of the flat in question.
Over the centuries, the Castle underwent many transformations until it lost its defensive function and was converted into a Villa-Farm in the 15th century. Of the late Renaissance period, the exterior shape, the beautiful 16th-century entrance portal and the rectangular windows on brackets of the entire building have remained almost completely intact. Exponents of the Florentine nobility, poets and men of letters have alternated in the ownership of this important villa up to the present day, each time making improvements. The new ownership has carried out important and structural consolidation and modernisation work on the building, which has now reached a final stage.
