What you should know about this house

Amenities and special features of this house

In the heart of an ancient village in the Alto Monferrato, halfway between the enchanting towns of Nizza Monferrato and Acqui Terme, the romantic Conti Veggi Castle dominates the village and the picturesque surrounding hills, suspended between the present and the past. A small alley in the village leads discreetly to the imposing portal and walls of the castle, which guard a long history with distant origins. Of medieval structure, the castle is surrounded by imposing walls from which rise, with all their charm, no less than four towers: the round-based Torrione, the Torre dei Prigionieri, the Torre Belvedere and the Torre Vedetta. Inside the complex are two buildings: the Palazzo, rebuilt in the late 17th century by Countess Thea Porta, and the Casa Rustica. The 17th-century building boasts numerous halls, including the entrance hall with its remarkable wooden coffered ceiling, next to which is the Gentile Chapel. The complex was subdivided after the war into four separate family units, some of which were converted into charming country residences. One of these is the rustic house with its characteristic hayloft, and the large portico at the back overlooking the Church of San Bartolomeo. In the park that embraces the entire complex, rich in privacy, a swimming pool with an almost painted view of the vineyards may find place, as rendered in the photographs. A unique jewel rich in history and exclusivity, with strong versatile potential. Its barycentric position between Milan, Turin and Genoa makes it suitable for many different destinations: boutique hotel, holiday guest house, private residence, event location and representative residence.

Castelletto Molina: Location and surroundings of this property

Castelletto Molina is a very small typical village in the hills of Alto Monferrato, in Basso Piemonte, rich in culture, history, architecture, landscapes, excellent food and wine and a sense of belonging. It has about 160 inhabitants and is about 10 km from Nizza Monferrato, 40 km from Asti and 12 km from Acqui Terme. The town's origins date back to Roman times, as confirmed by the discovery of archaeological finds. The main square is overlooked by the main places of interest: the Conti Veggi Castle, which is so important that it appears in a 16th-century fresco in the Vatican Museum Gallery, confirming its historical importance; and the parish Church of San Bartolomeo Apostolo, in front of which stands the elegant town hall. Also particularly striking is the Oratory of the Annunziata, the small church that 'escaped' from the castle walls: witness the small Torre di Guardia, the fifth tower of the Conti Veggi Castle. An important curiosity for the history of these lands: the village is still one of the few centres in the Asti area to keep alive the practice of 'balon', the game of 'fist ball' or 'elastic ball', an emblem of the most genuine and popular Piedmont, which has always been one of the symbols of the peasant culture of lower Piedmont. Last but not least: Castelletto Molina is located in a strategic position in Piedmont, in the perfect barycentre between the cities of Milan (120 km), Turin (100 km) and Genoa (100 km), which makes it ideal for travelling and for international tourism aimed at discovering the Unesco beauties of Langhe, Roero and Monferrato, recognised as World Heritage Sites in 2014.
