Legnano - Saronno: Location and surroundings of this property

Piode is an Italian town of 188 inhabitants in the province of Vercelli in Piedmont.
The town is located in Valsesia at 752 m above sea level. Valsesia is an Alpine valley. Its waters flowing into the Sesia River, from which it takes its name. It’s considered the greenest valley in Italy. It has seen the settlement of a number of Walser communities (whose story is told in the Valsesia Ecomuseum, a widespread museum with locations in various places in the upper valley),
Piode is known as one of the main boarding points on the Sesia River for kayaking and rafting practitioners and schools. In the territory of Piode there is a route that, passing through several small hamlets, reaches Alpe Meggiana (1,553 m a.s.l.). Its territory is part of the Sesia Val Grande Geopark, a UNESCO Global Geoparks Network heritage site since 2013.
Its name derives from the word piova and, that is, the stone - also known as beola - typical roof covering of houses in the area.
Among the monuments of Piode are some religious buildings:
- the Parish Church of Santo Stefano
- the Oratory of the Madonna delle Pietre Grosse
- the Church of St. John the Baptist.
Alongside religious tourism, a mountain-related tourism has developed in the past decades, thanks to the ski resorts of Scopello - Alpe di Mera and especially Alagna Valsesia, and, more recently, a water tourism: in fact, the Sesia River is one of the best rivers in Italy for canoe sports, going so far as to host the European kayak championships in 2001 and the world championships of the same specialty in 2002.

Commission Details

The assignment of mediation to our agency and our real estate agents is conferred through the signing of a specific document or, in the absence of this, with the use of the services listed in our brochure, in our real estate files and related clauses.
