Siena enters the top ten for quality of life in the ranking drawn up by the University of Rome La Sapienza with ItaliaOggi, and is confirmed in first place for leisure and tourism.
Compared to the ranking of a year ago, our city has made a significant leap, in fact in 2019 it was in 34th place in the general classification while this year it placed tenth, climbing 24 positions.
The overall ranking takes into account numerous parameters, including: business and work, environment, social security, education, human capital training, crime and security, leisure and tourism. Siena, with its 10th place, is the first among the Tuscans, and surpassing even large cities such as Milan which is 45th and Rome in 50th place.
For leisure time and tourism, Siena is again in first place this year, confirming the placement achieved in the past six editions and proving itself as always an excellence in this sector.
The Covid effect has certainly affected the placings of 2020: the provinces most affected by the first wave of coronavirus are in fact also those that have lost the most positions in the overall standings. Bergamo drops from 26th place last year to 40th this year. Lodi is back by 37 positions, Milan by 16, Piacenza by 41, Cremona by 46.
Tuscany in general obtains excellent results, with numerous provinces at the top in all categories, remaining a point of reference for quality of life in Italy.
