This exquisite wine producing farm is situated near Stellenbosch and a mere 30 minute drive from Cape Town International Airport. The farm's unique location renders scenic views over the Devon Valley to the west and the Hottentots-Holland Mountains to the East. The 1300m² Cellar was built in 1941, and expanded in 1998. The original cement fermentation tanks are still in use, as well as modernized stainless steel tanks. Based on traditional winemaking methods, the cellar boasts a combination of both old and new techniques, which have been refined for more than 100 years of family wine making. The cellar has the capacity to process 450 tons of grapes and produces quality, award winning wines. The Cellar also hosts a maturation facility for 300 oak barrels (225-litres each) which are predominantly French oak, with a small selection of American oak, to provide additional variation when developing the wood structure to certain wines. Grapes are sourced from the neighbouring farm.
The 450m² restaurant specializes in open fire barbeque dishes, and can seat 50 guests inside and an additional 60 guests outside. The lawn area is large enough to pitch a bedouin tent that can accommodate 120 guests. The laidback and peaceful atmosphere provides that perfect authentic farm experience. The restaurant also serves as the wine tasting center.
The 350m² function venue is very popular for weddings, conferences and other functions and can seat 60 guests. The venue is popular as the farm is only 4km from Stellenbosch town centre. The tranquil and farm-like atmosphere sets the perfect tone for weddings, family events and corporate functions.
Dwellings on the farm consist of the main house offering 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, downstairs pub and private cellar. The pool area includes two Air BnB apartments, a 2-bedroom self catering cottage, shed, and barbeque area. The second house offers 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, swimming pool and Air BnB apartment.
The farm has a listing of 7.4ha Theewaterskloof scheme water, a 68 000m³ storage dam with 2 pump houses, 3 boreholes and a filtration plant.
Electricity is supplied by Eskom. Three back-up generators are in place.
All the buildings are fitted with alarm systems, CCTV cameras, and armed response as well as an electric gate. Access to the farm is off tar road, onto a paved road.
