Known as one of the biggest names in interior design today, Axel Verwoordt has always been just as passionate about art, antiques, real estate and curating collections.
His distinguished clients include royals, rock stars, financiers, tech tycoons and artists, all of whom regard Vervoordt as an absolute expert – particularly when it comes to breathing new life into classic manor houses and castles. The Belgian visionary has put a lot of careful thought into his own lasting legacy and has built a small family empire with his wife, May and his sons, Boris and Dick. We had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Vervoordt family in Antwerp to take a closer look at their many ventures. Just as famous – but more known for his love of bright colors – is the British
designer Sir Terence Conran, whose pop designs influenced people’s tastes in living rooms around Britain before taking over the world. Each stunning creation from the haute couture House of Dior is in itself a classic – as is the impressive Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte outside Paris, which three brothers have filled with new life.
