Valdesoto is a village in the council of Siero, located at an altitude of 240 m, at a crossroads of several roads. It is located about 15 minutes from the main points of interest in the area: Parque Principado shopping centre (15 km), new Amazon logistics centre (15 km), Central Hospital of Asturias (20 km), La Pola (8 km), where we find all the services and amenities (school, high school, health centre, train, supermarkets, pharmacies, banks, etc.), 25 minutes (21 km) from the main shopping centre. ), 25 minutes (21 km) by car from Oviedo and 22 minutes (24 km) from Gijón, which means that the council of Siero, located in the central region of Asturias, plays an important role in the socio-economic life of the Principality, being one of the most populated municipalities and with one of the most consolidated economies in Asturias. In addition, the Autovía del Cantábrico motorway passes very close to the parish, with a junction in the capital of the municipality, Pola de Siero, just 4 kilometres from Valdesoto. The narrow-gauge FEVE railway line between Gijón and Laviana also crosses the parish, with two halts within its boundaries. Valdesoto stands out for its intense associationism and also for its fiestas, dedicated to San Félix, the second weekend in August, in which the Parade of Floats is held, a fiesta declared to be of regional tourist interest in 2002. It is an ideal area for enjoying nature, with walks and routes through its incredible mountains and adjacent villages, as well as enjoying the wide range of gastronomy on offer in the area.
