The Lumiar parish is one of the most populous, encompassing the three traditional old settlements of Lumiar, Paço do Lumiar and Telheiras, and is located in Lisbon’s North-Central Zone. Paço do Lumiar is known for its historic estates and is an excellent place to live, with pleasant sports, leisure and cultural venues, such as the Paço do Lumiar Golf Club, the National Costume Museum and the National Museum of Theatre and Dance. One of Lisbon’s most renowned schools, Colégio Manuel Bernardes, is also located here.
Telheiras, in turn, benefits from a wide range of services and transport links. The commercial establishments spread throughout the neighbourhood are another of its advantages. The “street commerce” brings life and activity to Telheiras’s streets. This diversity meets residents’ basic needs through grocery stores, bakeries, stationery shops, etc., as well as two large supermarkets. The “Cafés de Telheiras” area, or “Dry Docks,” stands out for its high level of activity. Telheiras’s accessibility is indeed one of the area’s main advantages, with southern Telheiras benefiting from the best connections. It is surrounded by major roads (the 2nd Circular and the North-South Axis), which easily take residents to any area of Lisbon and even to the motorways outside the city.
