Port of Sóller is a small coastal village located in Majorca West, flanked by the imposing Tramuntana Mountain Range. It is home to traditional townhouses and select apartments in various sizes, which share wonderful views over the bay or harbour. This portuary village is less than a 15-minute drive from the town of Sóller. Its early 20th century-tram continues running daily between the port and the town. Riding in its original wooden carriages, visitors enjoy the unique blend between sea, mountain and traditional architecture. The port bears the authentic seal of its centuries-old fishing tradition. In its maritime atmosphere, travellers can delight in a varied mix of gastronomy, sports, restaurants and wellness sites. Port de Sóller has a luxurious range of 5-star hotels, including the Jumeirah Hotel & Spa, the Hotel Espléndido, and the Bikini Island and Mountain Hotel. It has other assorted attractions, like the marine museum, Museu de la Mar, and the annual Classical Music Festival. The popular feast of Sant Pere, patron saint of fishermen, and other historical recreations, often lend the village a festive atmosphere. Each month of May, the local fair ‘Es Firó’ re-enacts, in a colourful, authentic manner, the port’s resistance to the attack by Turkish and Algerian corsairs and pirates in the 16 th century. The bay is a much-sought scenario for water and nautical activities, and you may rent a boat at the dock. Its sandy beach and calm waters are perfect to relax, go for a swim, sun-bathe or watch beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Something exciting is always going on at Port de Sóller, attracting visitors from all over and making the village a lively place to be in.
