Location: Centre, Sóller

Sóller, a lively town in the heart of the Tramuntana Mountains near the island’s beautiful west coast, is home to some of Mallorca’s most exclusive properties: townhouses, traditional country houses and elegant villas. Sóller is a 30-minute drive from Palma and can be reached directly via the free tunnel. In the 18th and 19th centuries, Sóller promoted the international citrus trade and, at the beginning of the 20th century, commissioned the construction of the railway to Palma. Shortly afterwards, the tramway between Sóller and its port opened. With their striking original carriages, the train to Palma and the tram still delight tourists today. Its cosmopolitan lifestyle made Sóller one of the country’s centres of Modernism. Among the Modernist houses and buildings, the Church of Sant Bartomeu stands out on the central square. The town offers first-class infrastructure, including supermarkets, shops, medical facilities and sports centres. Sóller is ideal for hiking, mountain biking and climbing; the Son Termes golf course is less than a 20-minute drive away. The selection of restaurants, bars and cafés is attractive, as are the excellent hotels and wellness centres; the Saturday handicraft market is very popular. Sóller has a beautiful botanical garden, as well as museums such as the Modernist Can Prunera Museum and an exhibition of works by Joan Miró and Pablo Picasso at the railway station, originally the summer house where the two artists met. The town hosts popular fairs and annual festivals, including “Es Firó” and the classical music festival at Port de Sóller.
