The Campo de Gibraltar is one of the six regions of the province of Cádiz, located in the southernmost part of the autonomous community of Andalusia. It is a tourist destination offering a wide range of very different and complementary tourist activities to the Andalusian and Spanish offerings. The Campo de Gibraltar borders and is adjacent to the British colony of Gibraltar; it is the closest Spanish territory to the African continent, separated by only 14 kilometers. It is the meeting point of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. Sixty percent of its territory consists of protected natural areas of high ecological value, and it has a special climate characterized by a high number of sunshine hours per year and strong winds, which favor the practice of water sports along its extensive and varied coastline.
