Bunyola is a small village at the foot of the Sierra de Alfábia, surrounded by the Serra de Tramuntana, with about 7,000 inhabitants and a large municipal area. Bunyola is one of the six largest municipalities on the entire island. The municipality includes charming places such as Orient and the luxurious villa area of Sa Coma, as well as the two historic country estates Alfábia and Raixa. One of the great treasures of this idyllic region is the so-called “Sa Comuna,” one of Mallorca’s largest publicly accessible forest areas, with a cultural hiking trail. In the center of Bunyola are the church of San Mateo and the main square, where you can enjoy a good coffee and the calm atmosphere of the area. The historic Sóller wooden railway passes the old Bunyola station on its way to Palma. The village stands out for its tranquility, the beauty of its narrow streets, the architecture of its old stone houses, and its proximity and good connections to Palma. A weekly market is also held on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, where you can buy fresh vegetables, fruit, clothing, and much more. The village has good restaurants and cafés. It is about 25 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from central Palma and the nearest beaches.
