Torrevieja is one of the main cities in the province of Alicante, located somewhere in the center between Murcia and Alicante. The extensive coastline of Torrevieja, stretching along 25 kilometers of coast, is perfect for a beach vacation, both for young people and families with children. Due to the abundance of sunny days per year, around 320, it is good to relax in Torrevieja, both in the peak tourist season and off-season. Besides the Mediterranean Sea, the city is bordered by two salt lakes: pink - Salada de Torrevieja and emerald - Salada de la Mata. Playa del Cura is the central beach of this city and one of the most popular among tourists due to its beauty and proximity to the city center. It is bordered to the south by the Juan Aparicio embankment and to the north by Cape Margaglia (or Cape Carral). There is the Monument to the Mediterranean Cultures, better known as the “Columns,” probably one of the most photographed places in Torrevieja. The beach has been recently renovated and offers numerous bars, gift shops, ice cream parlors, and restaurants. You can combine swimming and a good lunch at one of the local restaurants.
