The entrance opens onto the bright, spacious kitchen, perfectly connected to the large living room with fireplace, a charming setting enhanced by exposed wooden beams that highlight its character. The sleeping area is on the same level and includes three welcoming bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, as well as a practical laundry/ironing room. Location: Oviglio, Piedmont

Oviglio, a small municipality in the Province of Alessandria, lies in the heart of southern Piedmont, between the Monferrato and Langhe areas, about 12 km from Alessandria and about 70 km from Turin. Its geographic position is particularly advantageous thanks to its proximity to the main road and motorway routes of Northern Italy, allowing quick connections to Turin, Milan, Genoa and the Ligurian Riviera. The origins of Oviglio are very ancient: the area was already inhabited in pre-Roman and Roman times, and the village appears in medieval sources as one of the settlements that contributed to the founding of the city of Alessandria in 1168, supported by the Lombard League against Frederick Barbarossa. The landmark monument of the town is the Royal Castle of Oviglio, a building of medieval origin that stands on the remains of an ancient fortified castrum. The first documented evidence dates back to the 14th century, when the village was under the rule of the Visconti of Milan. Over the centuries the castle belonged to important Piedmontese noble families, including the Perboni and the Calcamuggi, until it was purchased by Queen Maria Cristina of Bourbon-Naples, from whom it takes the name “Royal Castle”. Declared a National Monument in 1908, it still represents one of the most significant historical testimonies of the area. Thanks to its scenic setting, its agricultural and wine-growing tradition, and its strategic position between Monferrato, the Langhe and the Alessandria plain, Oviglio is an ideal place to live or invest in a quiet, well-connected environment rich in history.
