Colonno is one of the most authentic villages on the western shore of Lake Como. Colonno is also the starting point of the Greenway del Lago di Como, one of the most scenic walking routes in the area. The path crosses villages, gardens, historic villas and panoramic stretches along the sunny Tremezzina. It offers a slower way to discover the territory, passing through ancient hamlets, lake views, terraced landscapes, churches, patrician houses and Mediterranean gardens, in a natural balance between Alpine scenery and lakeside atmosphere. The location also allows easy access to some of the best-known destinations in the central part of the lake, including Tremezzina and Menaggio, with their restaurants, promenades, services and boat connections. Como, the provincial capital, is approximately 25 km away, while Milan Malpensa International Airport and Lugano-Agno Airport in Switzerland can be reached in around one hour by car. Colonno also offers an interesting balance between lake and mountain. The main Alpine ski resorts, both in Italy and Switzerland, are reachable in approximately two hours, while in just over two hours the Ligurian Riviera opens onto a completely different landscape, with the sea, coastal villages and Mediterranean colours and scents.
