In Trambileno, visit sacred sites and explore the routes of the Great War in Trentino. Trambileno, "between both Leni," is one of the municipalities of the Leno Valleys along with Vallarsa and Terragnolo, and you can easily reach it by taking the road from Rovereto to Rifugio Lancia. From here, through its 18 hamlets, you can embark on numerous excursions on the mountains of the Great War, towards the panoramic peaks of Col Santo, Monte Testo, Corno Battisti, and the sacred area of Palon. Forte Pozzacchio – Werk Valmorbia, entirely carved into the rock and recently restored, is an unmissable testimony of the First World War that you can find in this mountain municipality. Here, every year, two events are organized in memory of the fallen, the commemorations of Corno Battisti and Forte Pozzacchio. Another must-see is the evocative Hermitage of San Colombano perched over the Leno stream and visible along the road from Rovereto to Trambileno. From the hermitage, you can also reach the characteristic Sanctuary of Madonna de la Salette, which, immersed in a silent pine forest, dominates the valley. Additionally, just a short walk from Lancia, through the tunnels of Monte Testo, you can glimpse traces of dinosaur footprints. Trambileno, thanks to its position and its large alpine pastures on Monte Pasubio, is the pulsating heart of the Leno Valleys, allowing easy access via hiking or mountain biking to the nearby municipalities of Terragnolo and Vallarsa.
