Description

A very unique farmhouse for sale, completely renovated with original materials, river stones, and bricks, overlooking the Valconca in the municipality of Montescudo-Montecolombo. Set in a fenced garden of about 3000 m2, with oaks, olive trees, and pines, this typical Romagnolo farmhouse welcomes us with its generous dimensions in a panoramic position, secluded but not isolated, a few minutes from the center of Montescudo and a few kilometers from the sea of Riccione and Cattolica. The entrance, through the large porch, introduces us to the ground floor in the most lived-in area of the house, the large kitchen illuminated by three windows, with original period brick flooring and exposed wooden beams. The traditional fireplace on one side will allow you to enjoy a relaxing and engaging atmosphere. On the opposite side, still on the ground floor, a room/study leads us to the living area connected to the porch by a large French door. The service bathroom, also used as a laundry and boiler room, is located at the back with an independent exit to the garden. Going up to the upper floor, along a typical brick staircase, we are welcomed by four bedrooms, each with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and exposed to the sun throughout the day. A newly renovated bathroom can be completed with accessories and fittings to your liking. A large hallway, characterized by the presence of the old wood stove, is enriched by an ancient bread oven, a sign of the past and the daily life of the old farmers. The property offers unique environments in a typically hilly context where tradition, culture, and the air of "Romagna" can be breathed in fully.

Location: Montescudo-Monte Colombo, Emilia-Romagna

Montescudo, in the time of Emperor Augustus, served as a military station for changing horses for couriers traveling from Rimini (Ariminum) to Rome. It was probably the first exchange on a shortcut for the Via del Furlo. After the barbarian invasions, particularly terrifying were those of the Hungarians, Montescudo was for centuries a subject of contention between the Malatesta and Montefeltro families to maintain what was considered a strategic point in the struggle between the two houses. Subsequently, Montescudo fell under the dominion of Venice, the Papacy, and Napoleon Bonaparte. It was precisely under Napoleon's rule that Montescudo reached the height of its prosperity because, in addition to the offices of the Pretura, it had those of the Census, the Land Registry, Recruitment, and Postal services; even today, the municipal banner bears the colors of the French flag, and a plaque at the entrance of the municipal theater commemorates this period. The historic center retains a massive wall, the civic tower dating back to 1300, an extraordinary and unique icehouse, walkways, secret passages leading from the sea-side watchtower to the fortress, the well, the steep staircase, and the large, intact brazier. Montescudo, nestled in greenery and situated on a hill (386 meters above sea level) in the Conca Valley, with an excellent view of the Romagna Riviera just 16 km away, is accessible from Rimini along provincial road no. 41 and from Cattolica and Riccione via Morciano di Romagna. Naturally, both in the town center and its surroundings, there are restaurants and trattorias appreciated for their traditional and refined cuisine, good accommodation facilities, and sports and recreational equipment capable of offering a pleasant and relaxing vacation, immersed in greenery, just steps from the sea.
