Land-sky in Ala’s historic center

The municipality of Ala is located in the south of the Province of Trento. It is about 40 km from the provincial capital, 15 km from Rovereto, 50 km from Verona, and 20 km from Lake Garda. In the 16th century, trade developed significantly, with the cultivation of mulberry trees and silkworms. This activity began during Venetian rule and a century later was complemented by the production of silk velvet for the European market. This marked the start of a notable period of prosperity that lasted until the 18th century, still evident in the urban fabric created between the 17th and 18th centuries. Owing to its geographic position, Ala is strategic for reaching various tourist destinations such as Torbole and Riva del Garda, Folgaria, the Brentonico Plateau, and Verona.
