Located between the cities of Alba, Asti, and Alessandria, Nizza Monferrato is an important agricultural and commercial center situated in the heart of Monferrato, one of Italy's most renowned wine-producing regions, especially known for its red wines and sparkling wines. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014 for its landscape and Barbera wine, of which it is the undisputed capital. "Nizza è Barbera" is the title of the annual cultural and food and wine event held every May, during which the spotlight is on Barbera d'Asti DOCG, the local wine that is famous in Italy and abroad. From Barbera also comes the prestigious Nizza DOCG, a wine made entirely from 100% Barbera and aged for a minimum of 18 months. Nizza is a human-scale town, nestled among beautiful hills and ancient churches, natural trails and delicacies, where even the rows of vines frame open-air sculptures and installations. Its beautiful historic center, medieval in its oldest part, is triangular in shape with streets all in a straight line and boasts a rich presence of historic buildings of considerable value. Its extraordinary lands are reflected not only in the wines but also in the local gastronomic offerings, which are equally rich and diverse: from fine meats to handmade pasta, to excellent cheeses, tome and robiolas, and finally to exquisite traditional sweets. A terroir rich in history and tradition, which remained "secret" for a long time, now finally to be discovered and a great investment for the future.
