Description

In the heart of San Cesario, on a quiet little street, the building dating from the early 1900s presents itself with grace and simplicity. The layout of the building is the classic Salento courtyard house, characterized by a front courtyard and a garden at the back Crossing the threshold we enter a small courtyard that gives us a sense of intimacy and makes us curious. The main door with its ornate, Art Nouveau-style frame, set at the end of a flight of steps, welcomes us to a succession of very large rooms with vaulted ceilings and original cement tiles. The house is all on one floor with two entrances from the main door of the palace, and on the opposite side it opens onto a generous garden. An ancient staircase leads to the terrace that covers the entire surface of the palace and accommodates another room. Also near the entrance, built in stone, we find a beautiful semi-basement barrel-vaulted room, ideal for creating a spa or wine cellar. The property has never undergone any interventions since its construction, which dates back to the early 1900s (1915-1922), and represents a perfect opportunity to make a beautiful private residence or a small charming accommodation.

Location: San Cesario di Lecce, Apulia

Just a few minutes from Lecce, a town named in honor of Caesar Augustus, with origins dating back to 237 BC, Roman times, welcomes and surprises us with its simple beauty and unexpected majesty. During feudal times several noble families followed one another and left traces of their presence with historic villas and palaces. In a reasonably small radius we find four important churches and the Ducal Palace around which San Cesario develops. Nowadays considered part of the agglomeration of the city of Lecce, San Cesareo is sought after both for its tranquility at a stone's throw from the city and for its strategic position ideally located between Porto Cesareo and the nature reserve Le Cesine. In addition to being an area very rich in accommodations, restaurants and stores, San Cesario is known for being since 1978 the home of the famous pastry chef Natale, best known for his Pasticceria e Gelateria on Via Trinchese in Lecce.
