Description

Just minutes from the heart of the ancient medieval village of Toirano, in a private residential setting, immersed in tranquility and well exposed, a property is revealed that combines elegance and harmony with the surrounding nature. A convenient staircase leads to the entrance of the enchanting garden, enhanced by flowers and fruit trees. Here, a large outdoor living area invites moments of pure relaxation; whether among the pages of a book or in pleasant company, every moment here becomes an experience of well-being. The property is arranged over three levels, offering spaces designed with care and taste. On the ground floor, the main entrance opens onto a generously sized open-plan living area, where the open kitchen with its impressive central island becomes the true convivial focal point, giving the space a contemporary, refined allure. A convenient guest bathroom completes the floor. Two French doors dissolve the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, providing visual continuity and direct access to the covered outdoor area, from which one enjoys an evocative open view. A comfortable spiral staircase leads to the upper floor, dedicated to the sleeping area; the master bedroom, intimate and bright, and a second bedroom offer welcoming, well-distributed spaces. Both bedrooms overlook a wide balcony with views of the gentle surrounding hills. The large, windowed bathroom is designed to ensure comfort and functionality without sacrificing style. A spacious attic completes the floor. On the lower level, a charming reading room enhanced by a classic-style fireplace evokes warm, homely atmospheres and offers an intimate, enveloping setting. This level also provides convenient direct access to the private garage and a third bathroom, completing a residence that naturally and finely interprets the concept of contemporary living.

Location: Toirano, Liguria

The territory of Toirano lies in the valley of the same name, on the right bank of the Varatella stream and at the confluence of the latter with the Barescione. It is dominated by Mount San Pietro dei Monti (891 m), and is laterally cut by the valley of the Vero stream, where almost eighty large and small cavities open up, including the famous Basura Caves (bàsura in the local dialect means “witch”) and the Colombo Cave, natural caves with ancient traces of prehistoric humans. The valley probably already hosted a settlement in Roman times and later formed part of the limes (border) of the Byzantine Empire in defense against the Lombards. The oldest area of the hamlet of Toirano is called “Turaccu” (Italianized as “Toracco”), which in Medieval Latin means “foot of the tower”. Still preserved today is the characteristic medieval village, of which the foundations of some towers remain, as well as the so-called “Giaire” bridge, with three semicircular arches and squared-stone piers over the Varatella stream, dating back to the 13th century, topped by a votive shrine dating to the early 19th century, along with some stretches of the ancient city walls. Toirano also hosts a splendid ethnographic museum and offers the chance to enjoy a relaxing immersion in the greenery of trails leading to breathtaking views just a few kilometers from the Ligurian Sea.
