Surrounded by the painted hills of Mombaruzzo, an iconic village in the UNESCO heart of Alto Monferrato, just a few kilometers from the renowned Nizza Monferrato, the farm has everything one could wish for if seeking to engage in hospitality and organic winegrowing. The property consists of two buildings: the historic, typical Monferrato farmhouse with adjoining vinification cellar and a portico for agricultural equipment, and the recently built agritourism facility in eco-construction, housing the restaurant areas, kitchen, tasting room, barrel cellar and wine packaging warehouse, as well as a large, striking outdoor terrace overlooking the vineyards and the open view of the hills to be enjoyed in the warm season. The restaurant and tasting room, spacious and tastefully furnished, offers about 40 indoor seats, with 40 additional outdoor seats with panoramic views. Organic-certified since 1998, with a fundamentally biodynamic farming approach, the agritourism has about 7.5 ha of land at elevation and on a gentle slope, of which about 4 are vineyards in a single block embracing the two buildings. The remaining land is arable and woodland. The cultivated varieties are: Nizza DOCG, Barbera d’Asti DOCG, Freisa, Pinot Noir, Bronner, with an annual production of about 22–24,000 bottles, which can be increased by 50% within four years. The winery is equipped to vinify both white and red wines. In addition to 10 stainless-steel tanks, it has Tuscan terracotta amphorae for dedicated vinification, in which the farm is distinguishing itself internationally in the wine sector. The farmhouse, with a well-preserved rustic appearance, is divided into two independent units with separate access, but with a shared courtyard and garden. The smaller part, on 2 levels, is fully renovated and currently occupied by the owners; the remaining part is renovated only externally (including the roof), but internally is unfinished, thus offering strong versatility depending on needs: holiday home, bed and breakfast, main residence, guesthouse use. Possibility of support for start-up of the business or for partial or total management.
From the picturesque village of Mombaruzzo, set between two lush green hills in the Province of Asti, you can enjoy a spectacular view and an old-world atmosphere... Walking through the town center, you follow steep streets squeezed between tall ancient buildings with Renaissance doorways, and you come across places rich in artistic evidence, such as the small square by the old cemetery, in front of the Church of St. Mary Magdalene, an imposing building of Romanesque origin, though remodeled many times. The medieval Civic Tower dominates the oldest part of the village. Mombaruzzo is also known for its confectionery specialty, amaretti, which are still made by local biscuit makers according to the ancient recipe. They are so called precisely because of their bitter taste, which sets them apart from other sweets, and in Piedmont they are considered a typical specialty that has received important awards. Mombaruzzo’s central location makes it possible to reach major towns quickly: Nizza Monferrato is 15 minutes away, the splendid spa town of Acqui Terme is only 20 minutes away, Alba is 45 minutes away, Asti is 30 km away. Turin and Milan are 90 km and 120 km away, respectively.
