Description
In the heart of Acqui Terme’s historic center, just a short walk from the Castle and the Cathedral, this charming, fully renovated apartment is located within a prestigious 16th-century building that has preserved its historic character intact.
Access is via the original stone staircase leading to the first floor, where the authentic atmosphere of the period is immediately felt. Crossing the entrance door, you enter a welcoming space that opens onto a hallway, the true central axis of the home, from which all rooms are harmoniously arranged. On the right is a traditional-style kitchen enhanced by elegant majolica tile floors, connecting with the dining room to create a warm, refined, convivial space. Continuing along the hallway, you reach the living room: a spacious, evocative setting made even more inviting by a cast-iron pellet stove that spreads a natural, enveloping warmth. On the opposite side is the sleeping area, consisting of two bright, quiet bedrooms, and a bathroom furnished with taste and elegance. The entire apartment is enhanced by oak plank wood flooring, providing continuity and warmth throughout.
The property also includes a large, characteristic cellar with exposed brick vaults—an atmospheric space ideal for creating a charming tavern room.
The surroundings of the building are equally enchanting: a small inner courtyard with a well and the surrounding medieval palaces create a unique atmosphere, able to take you back in time and offer an authentic living experience rich in history.

Location: Acqui Terme, Piedmont
Acqui Terme, the beating heart of Upper Monferrato, enjoys a strategic position in the middle of the Bormida Valley. Just 1 hour from the Ligurian Riviera, 1.5 hours from Milan, and 1 hour 30 minutes from Turin and the Piedmont ski resorts. Since Roman antiquity, Acqui’s thermal springs have enjoyed great prestige. The Latin writer Gaius Pliny the Elder mentions them as among the most important in the Roman world, together with those of Puteoli (Pozzuoli) and Aquae Sextiae (Aix-en-Provence). The Roman city in fact had at least three bath complexes, of which some remains survive today. A monumental aqueduct also ensured the water supply, intended both for the baths and for domestic and productive use. The city is dynamic and offers numerous events throughout the year. The oldest part is the Borgo Pisterna, reached through Piazza della Bollente, where a sulfur spring gushes at 70° with therapeutic effects. There are numerous restaurants and trattorias where you can enjoy local dishes and wines.
