Description

In the heart of the historic village of Monteleone, a district of Roncofreddo in the Romagna hinterland, a charming late 19th-century house is for sale, completely renovated in 2012 with great attention to the recovery of original materials and modern comfort. The property is located in Piazza Byron, one of the most characteristic areas of the village, just a few steps from the historic castle, enlivened by events, concerts, and cultural activities, especially during the summer season. The house is developed over two main levels. On the entrance floor, directly overlooking the square, there is a large living room, an eat-in kitchen, a guest service bathroom, a separate living area, and a rear terrace with a splendid panoramic view over the valley, perfect for outdoor dinners and moments of conviviality in a reserved and quiet setting. On the upper floor, there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, ideal for a family or to host friends and relatives in total comfort. On the basement level, the house also features a large garage, technical rooms used as a laundry and storage, offering functional and convenient spaces for every need. The property is completed by a plot of about 1,500 square meters currently in a wooded state, which offers the possibility of creating a private garden surrounded by greenery or simply enjoying a natural reserve at your doorstep. The location is particularly strategic: the village of Monteleone is immersed in the quiet of the Romagna hills but is only a few minutes from the municipality of Montiano, where all the main services can be found, and it is well connected with Cesena, the Adriatic coast, and the main communication routes. This house represents an ideal solution for those who wish to live in an authentic and historically rich setting, without giving up comfort, privacy, and the beauty of the Romagna hill landscape.

Location: Monteleone, Emilia-Romagna

The property is located in Piazza Byron, in the heart of the small village of Monteleone, a historic district of the municipality of Roncofreddo, in the province of Forlì-Cesena. It is a place full of charm and memory, where time seems to have stood still, preserving the medieval soul of the village intact. The house directly overlooks the castle that dominates the town center and represents the historical and visual focal point of the entire village. The origins of Monteleone date back to at least 1233, when the village, then called Monleonis, boasted a strategic and dominant position over the Cesena hinterland. The castle, which still characterizes the architectural and landscape identity of the village, retains important elements of its defensive structure, such as the strongly sloped walls on the east side, reinforced between the 15th and 17th centuries, and a corner tower of probable Malatesta origin. Ascending a short grassy path, one reaches the entrance of the castle, now privately owned and not open to the public, which faces the square along with the parish church, relocated here around 1520. The square itself is named after the English poet George Byron, who was a regular guest at the castle, then owned by Alessandro Guiccioli, a member of the central administration of Emilia and husband of Teresa Gamba, Byron's lover.
